Christy Spoto is a self-taught mosaic artist.  She has been creating mosaic art for over 20 years crafting pieces that are both beautiful and functional.  Just about anything can be enhanced with a splash of color.  If it exists in the universe it can be mosaicked.  This was the thought process when she mosaicked her first bison skull from Sedona.  Numerous commissions inspired her to learn to fuse glass to further beautify and suit each client project.  This began a glass infatuation creating plates, bowls, platters and much more.  The result of her talents is her business Mosaic Fusion blending both mediums to supplement more beautiful and intricate creations.  Her unique thought process allows her to produce a piece of art using traditional materials such as ceramic, stone, Italian vitreous glass and tile however more suited to her is the “outside of the box” approach.  She wouldn’t think twice about using crystal wine closures, wine staves from her winery or foil circles from the tops of wine bottles for a more novel appearance.  Her goal is to create exquisite art that people love and enjoy.
